#TDX24 Missed TrailblazerDX 2024 Main Keynote? Don’t worry. I’ve got you covered. Here is a quick recap of different features announced, presentation containing screenshots from the main keynote and announcements.

The major innovations announced & showcased in the TrailblazerDX 2024 were:

TrailblazerDX 2024 New Features

What is Einstein Copilot?

Einstein Copilot is a new generative AI-powered conversational assistant Salesforce application. A new and trusted out-of-the-box conversational AI assistant built into the user experience of every Salesforce application.

Einstein Copilot will enable users to ask questions in natural language and receive relevant and trustworthy answers. In addition, Einstein Copilot proactively takes actions and offers additional options beyond the user’s query – such as providing a recommended action plan after a sales call, checking a consumer’s order status, or changing the shipping date.

What is Einstein 1 Studio?

Einstein 1 Studio, a set of low-code tools that enables Salesforce admins and developers to customize Einstein Copilot — the conversational AI assistant for CRM.

Einstein 1 Studio includes Copilot Builder for creating custom AI actions to accomplish specific business tasks, Prompt Builder for building and activating custom prompts in the flow of work, and Model Builder, where users can build or import a variety of AI models.

This enables businesses to deliver trusted AI experiences across Salesforce’s Einstein 1 Platform that are tailored to their customers’ needs.

What is Prompt Builder?

Prompt Builder enables admins and developers to create custom, reusable AI prompts without coding, simplifying complex processes and driving business innovation.

This not only broadens the use of generative AI beyond conversational interfaces, but also allows customers to design and repurpose prompts for use across other experiences. For example, a custom prompt can be seamlessly embedded in a contact record as a button, enabling an agent in the contact center to get a snapshot of all escalated cases for a customer in one click.

What is Copilot Builder?

With Copilot Builder you can customize Einstein Copilot using tools Apex, Flow, and MuleSoft APIs and new generative AI components like prompts.

Einstein Copilot can leverage these custom actions to complete tasks across any Salesforce application or external system.

What is Model Builder?

Model Builder is a no-code, low-code, and pro-code way for companies to build their own predictive AI models, trained on their Data Cloud data. For generative AI, Model Builder allows customers to select from LLMs managed by Salesforce, or bring their own models.

Businesses can use predictive and generative AI models and services from Salesforce partners, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) via Amazon Bedrock and Amazon SageMaker, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI, Cohere, Databricks, Google Cloud’s Vertex AI, and OpenAI, and train or fine-tune select models on Data Cloud data without moving or copying data.

Data Cloud

Salesforce Vector Database, announced in December 2023, is a new component of the Salesforce Data Cloud. The Vector Database will unify all business data, including unstructured data like PDFs, emails, and transcripts, with CRM data to enable grounding of AI prompts and Einstein Copilot, eliminating the need for costly and complex fine-tuning of LLM models.

Bring Your Own Lake (BYOL)

Salesforce Bring Your Own Lake (BYOL) lets you combine your customer data stored in Salesforce with vast amounts of data you have in a separate data lake, like Snowflake. Traditionally, this would involve complex data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.

BYOL simplifies this by enabling direct data sharing between Salesforce and your data lake. This means you can access and analyze all your customer data together, without duplicating information.

Data Cloud Spaces

A data space is a logical partition to organize your data for profile unification, insights, and marketing in Data Cloud. You can segregate your data, metadata, and processes into categories, such as brand, region, or department, and then enable users to see and work on data only in the context of their category. You can also merge and analyze data in data spaces.

For more information on data cloud spaces click here.

Data Cloud related lists query for data harmonized in Data Cloud so that you can see information across your enterprise in a single component. You can add related lists with data from Data Cloud to your Contact and Leads record pages. For example, see all email engagements with a customer across multiple orgs.

Data Cloud Copy Fields

Copy data from a Data Cloud into your Contact or Lead standard or custom fields. You can enhance your contacts and leads with insights, such as lifetime value, and data aggregated or captured by Data Cloud from other orgs and systems.

Data Graphs

A data graph combines and transforms normalized table data from data model objects (DMOs) into new, materialized views of your data. Because the data is precalculated, you can make fewer calls, and queries respond in near real-time.

Einstein for Developers

Natural Language to Code

Use the Einstein for Developers sidebar to write a question or an instruction that describes the task for which you’d like to receive an Apex code suggestion and press Ask. Copy the code suggestion you received and paste it into an Apex file to use as “starter” code.

For more information click here.

Inline Autocomplete for Apex and LWC

Use AI-based autocomplete to accept suggestions for code as you write it right inside your editor. Inline autocompletions can currently be triggered in Apex and LWC (Javascript and CSS only) files.

For more information click here.

Test Case Generation for Apex

Unit tests must cover at least 75% of your Apex code, and all of those tests must complete successfully for your code to be deployed or packaged for the Salesforce AppExchange. Use Einstein for Developers to quickly generate unit tests for your Apex classes.

Code Analyzer Integration

Salesforce Code Analyzer (Code Analyzer) is a unified tool for source code analysis. Code Analyzer analyzes multiple languages. It relies on a consistent command-line interface and produces a results file of rule violations. Use the results to review and improve your code.

Code Explanations

Though I couldn’t find much details on this feature in the TrailheadDX sessions on Salesforce plus, my simple guess is that this feature will explain what an existing code does in plain english. This will be quite handy if you need to work on a code that was written by someone else.
