TrailblazerDX 2024 – The Future of User Management in Salesforce

In TrailblazerDX 2024 (#TDX24) that concluded in San Francisco last week, there was a session on the future of user management in Salesforce. There are some super cool features that is coming to Salesforce over next few releases. This includes:

  1. User Access Summary: Showing you all the User Permissions, Object Permissions, Field Permissions, Custom Permissions, Public Group & Queue memberships for the selected user.
  2. Permission Set Access Summary: Showing you all the related Permission Set Groups, User Permissions, Object Permissions, Field Permissions & Custom Permissions for a Permission Set.
  3. Permission Set Group Access Summary: Showing you Permission Sets included in the group, User Permissions, Object Permissions, Field Permissions & Custom Permissions for the Permission Set Group.
  4. Public Group Access Summary: Showing you Owner-Based & Criteria Based Sharing Rules that uses the selected Public Group, the Report & Dashboard Folders and the level of access the Public Group is granting access to, other Public Groups the selected Public Group is included in and the List Views by Object this Public Group is granting access to.
  5. User Permissions View: A single place to see the required license, dependencies, no. of users assigned to the permission & description of the permissions.
  6. Record Access Rules under Object Manager for an Object: Will show you all the sharing rules for the selected object governing access to records.
  7. Object Access Rules under Object Manager for an Object: Will show you all the Permission Sets & Permission Set Groups governing the CRED for the selected object.
  8. Clone Users: Soon you will be able to clone users from an existing user with all their entitlements that includes Permission Sets, Permission Set Groups, Public Group & Queue Membership.
  9. Access Comparision: Select two Users, Permission Sets, Permission Set Groups or Profiles and compare their access side by side for comparison and troubleshooting.
  10. Einstein Copilot for Admin Tasks: Soon, you will be able to ask Einstein Copilot to do things, rather than doing it yourself, e.g. grant specific permissions to a user.
