#SalesforceSummer24 – Users Cannot Search for Field Values They Don’t Have Access To

#1MinuteTip #SalesforceSummer24 Users now cannot search for field values in Global Search that they don’t have access to through Field Level Security.

Previously, while users without FLS permissions don’t see the field in their results, they do see results matched based on that field.

Product Area: Security

User ‘Ashish’ has access to the field ‘Social Security Number’ through Field Level Security. The user can search for the field value in Global Search and see the results.

Global Search shows records if the user has access to the field via field level security.

User ‘Anna’ does not have access to the field ‘Social Security Number’. Searching for a value stored in this field will now not show any results. Previously she could search the records based on the value stored in the field, even though the field itself was not shown.

Global Search will not show records if the user does not have access to the field via field level security

  1. You do a fine job with your tips. Your Summer ’24 tips have save me a lot of time; I have not had to read thru the 600 or so pages of the release notes. I review many of these tip emails, and most of them I cancel. Yours I read. Keep up the good work.
