It offers the ability to connect external applications with Salesforce data while maintaining security and clearly defining user roles. External client apps are designed with the security of second-generation managed packaging in mind.

In Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter External Client App, and then select Settings. Select Opt in to External Client Apps.
